Do you want to develop the habit of astronomy? We compare Orion SkyView Pro 8 and Celestron Nexstar 8SE telescope to help you decide where to spend your money
by
Entry-level telescopes are usually aimed at families and children, and are great for observing the moon, but if you are looking for something more "grown up" and want to study astronomy more deeply, you need to spend some time and choose a telescope with a higher and better Specification level. If you have the right telescope budget, two of them
What you can buy is

.
If you have enough money to spend all the bells, whistles and gadgets on high-end telescopes, that’s great, but if you spend a lot of money, you have to be double sure that you have made no mistakes. This is where our comparison guide is Came in. Our two competitors may usually be in a range that few casual observers can't afford-not a pun. But for dedicated astronomy enthusiasts or amateurs who want stars to travel farther than humans boldly, they are still achievable goals (if you are looking for something more suitable for beginners, please go to our budget Options showdown:
).
The big and bold Orion SkyView Pro 8 GoTo Reflector telescope is aimed at serious stargazers. Its impressive 1000mm focal length can allow our imagination to enter deep space, and its computerized function can accurately locate and zero in the heavenly visual interest.
High-end and high-tech alternative telescopes come from the equally familiar Celestron brand, which offers a wide range of equipment for various budgets and skills. Here, we chose the top Celestron Nexstar 8SE telescope as a close competitor of the Orion SkyView Pro 8 GoTo Reflector telescope. Celestron also has a certain degree of computerized operation, which is not only a close match in price, but also a feature set. But, which of the most competitive products that are most suitable for high-end telescopes you can buy is best for your own needs? Please read carefully to find out...
The main features of the clumsy Orion SkyView Pro 8 GoTo Reflector telescope include a large 203mm objective lens and a 1000mm wide focal length with f/4.9 aperture. These aims are to be able to resolve fine details with high power.
In addition to the "telescope" itself, the box also includes an 8x40 viewfinder mirror, 25mm and 10mm 1.25-inch eyepieces, telescope casing ring and "Starry Night" astronomy software. The key advantage is that with its computerized "GoTo" system, you can discover must-see attractions by accessing a large database. In fact, the internal stepping motor guides the scope to the celestial target, placing it directly in the field of view of the eyepiece. The ability to automatically locate and track such objects is one of the greatest features of the Orion SkyView Pro 8 GoTo Reflector telescope.
Of course, we also have a tripod with a stainless steel tube structure in the box. Orion said, on top of it, the telescope will feel like floating in the air. Similarly, the device weighs 7.5 kg. But its high-quality optical components are the most worthy of attention here.
Also distinctive is the competitive product Celestron Nexstar 8SE telescope. It offers a powerful 2032mm focal length (twice that of Orion), and matching 8-inch optics, combined here with f/10 aperture. Therefore, in theory, although Celestron can allow us to go deeper into deep space, which is an absolute advantage, the transmitted image may not generally provide the f/4.9 aperture provided by its competitors. However, the highest practical magnification recommended by Celestron for its high-end telescope is as high as 480 times.
This is Schmidt-Cassegrain's "microscope", which means it is a member of the "refraction" series, using a combination of mirrors and lenses to gather and focus light. Software is also provided here, this time a product of Starry Night SE, which has telescope control functions for computer telescopes, better than the basic software package.
Unlike the more affordable entry-level models, some initial user assembly is required here. The Orion SkyView Pro 8 GoTo mirror telescope is equipped with a sturdy stainless steel tripod as a support. In use, its 8-inch parabolic reflector is equipped with a greater light transmittance, allowing unobstructed views of the sky. In fact, its manufacturer claims that it has 73% more light than a 6-inch oscilloscope.
More importantly, the high-end Orion is equipped with a 2-inch Crayford focuser, which is also ideal for zeroing deep space objects. The light tube weighs very light at 7.5kg, which shows that the light tube is installed in your home "observatory", obviously, you can get the power you need there without camping.
Celestron Nexstar 8SE telescope rests on a sturdy steel tripod with an accessory tray. Thanks to its equally large 8-inch lens barrel, it also has good light-gathering capabilities, which means it can provide a clear view of objects in deep space. If your budget does not fit this particular example, there are also no designated 4-inch and 6-inch models in the Celestron series. Like its Orion brand competitors, although Celestron can also conveniently use AA batteries, you still need a power source to operate it.
The Orion SkyView Pro 8 GoTo Reflector telescope has access to a huge computerized database containing 42,000 celestial bodies. Allegedly, access to these functions requires only a few buttons and a power source, and its "GoTo" system can take us to tour the night sky and display the best sites for a particular calendar month. If you plan to use this option to take pictures, you may need to further research an adapter suitable for your camera or smartphone brand.
The Orion model GoTo system includes a computer manual controller and two stepper motors connected to the base of the SkyView Pro telescope. The GoTo controller can be used for navigating the night sky or finding celestial highlights in the calendar. The manufacturer promises to update GoTo’s firmware via the Internet to keep it up to date.
In contrast, Celestron's computerized Nexstar 8SE telescope can access a database of 40,000 celestial bodies, and can activate the air tour function with a few clicks of a button. At the time of writing, it is sold with an eyepiece and filter kit with 14 accessories and a phone mirror adapter that enables users to take photos of objects found in deep space, which just makes all your Instagram followers jealous. For those who want to be serious, there is an optional SkySync GPS accessory that can be plugged into Nexstar's auxiliary port to download data from GPS satellites in operation for quick and easy alignment.
The Orion SkyView Pro 8 GoTo Reflector telescope is a good choice if you want to go beyond the moon and locate and view objects in deep space – but it does come at a price. Its manufacturer also recommends users over the age of 12 to use it, so this is a fairly advanced choice, not a choice for young children to get started. Orion is currently one of the largest companies in the telescope market, so if this particular model doesn't fit your bill or budget, you have more options.
The price of Celestron Nexstar 8SE telescope is also high, although the retail price of its 6-inch aperture "6SE" is much cheaper at the time of writing the next model of the series, which will also make it a reality. It is worthy of further investigation. However, with an 8-year warranty, this 8SE series top hat can be used with confidence. In contrast, Orion offers a fairly standard one-year manufacturer's warranty.
In direct comparison with Orion, although its core specifications and feature set are roughly similar, Celestron has brought more benefits to the desktop in the form of a longer total focal length-in fact, it is twice that provided by Orion-theoretically We explore space more deeply. However, this and Orion are both from well-known and trusted brands, so no matter which option you choose, you won't go wrong in the end.

Our Google Pixel 4a vs. Google Pixel 5 guide details the differences between Google’s high-end phones and low-priced phones
by
If you are studying Google Pixel 4a and Google Pixel 5, you may have guessed that the more expensive Pixel 5 may perform better. The question is whether the difference is enough to make you buy a flagship Google phone, or the Pixel 4a's features are enough to satisfy you. The good news for you (and Google) is that both phones can connect to us
And the whole
List for 2021, so either way, you will get excellent equipment.
We will take you step by step to understand the sounds of these phones, pay attention to their similarities and mark the differences. We will study the hardware and software behind these Google phones, the relationship between them, and of course your budget.
If you want to know which is best for you, we will list everything below, but you can also learn more about us
And our
If you want a complete personal breakdown of these great Android phones,
We will start by talking about the shells of these phones. Google worked together to make the entire Pixel lineup look the same-indeed. Although there are some big differences to be aware of.
The body of the Google Pixel 4a is made of polycarbonate plastic and has one color (only black), while the Google Pixel 5 is made of metal and glass, and has added a green Sorta Sage to its color options. You will not be able to tell the difference in material from a distance, but if you hold it in your hand at close range, you will know which is a high-end mobile phone.
The case of Pixel 5 is also waterproof and dustproof, which is a feature that Pixel 4a does not have. Although, the Bluetooth resistance may want to know that Pixel 4a has a headphone jack, but Pixel 5 does not.
These phones are not big, equipped with 5.8-inch Pixel 4a and 6-inch Pixel 5 screens
List. However, these displays are different. Both are OLEDs, but compared to the 60Hz of the Pixel 4A, the refresh rate of the Google Pixel 5 is 90Hz. Among other things, this means smoother scrolling. Both have a resolution of 1080x2340, which means that the Pixel 4a actually looks a bit clearer because of its smaller screen, but the difference is so small that it is academic.
With the low-cost Pixel 4a, one of Google’s greatest victories is that it successfully achieved such excellent camera quality. There are some differences between 4a and Pixel 5, but Google tries to make the camera's software and hardware quality as consistent as possible.
Therefore, Pixel 4a is equipped with a 12.2MP f/1.7 aperture rear camera and 8MP, f/2.0 aperture front camera. This is the same as found on the Pixel 5-a notable difference is that the Pixel 5 has a second ultra-wide 16MP (f/2.2) rear lens. This means that the image quality of most snapshots should not make much difference, but you will find that Pixel 5 gives you more options, such as landscape or city photography.
On the software side (where Google really plays a role), the situation is much the same. Both Pixel 4a and Pixel 5 retain Google’s acclaimed Night Sight and Super Res Zoom features, while Pixel 5 has a few cherries on top. That is, you will find Night Sight here in portrait mode, as well as adjustable portrait lights and improved image stability.

Each feature can provide a more detailed breakdown on the photos taken on these phones.
In terms of battery, Pixel 5 has a battery capacity of 4,080 mAh, while Pixel 4a has a battery capacity of 3,140 mAh. The Google Pixel 4A should last a full day, but the Pixel 5 will have a longer lifespan-make sure you don’t get cursed for forgetting to plug in during bedtime.
Both phones have impressive fast charging capabilities, although only Pixel 5 supports wireless charging.
The Google Pixel 5 is powered by a 765G Snapdragon processor and has 8GB of RAM, while the Google Pixel 4a has a slightly lower specification combination of 730G Snapdragon and 6GB of RAM. This is enough for the Pixel 5 to see real improvements in more intense content such as games, especially when you open other apps. But for general lightweight applications, any of them will become lively enough.
Both phones have 128GB of storage space, but only the Pixel 5 can have 5G capabilities, which may make it a phone you are happy to keep for longer. In other words, there is now a
Models are available now, but are more expensive than the standard Pixel 4a (6.2 inches larger).
If you want to buy a high-priced mobile phone at a low price, or you decide to skip this generation of flagship products,
It is a good choice. Of course, you may want all the features of a flagship Google phone, and the price is still affordable compared to other brands. In this case,
Is your place to go.
Finally, it is difficult to tell which phones you should buy. The official price of the Pixel 4a is US$349/£349, while the official price of the Pixel 5 is US$699/£599. This is a big difference and it may be at your discretion.
The budget-limited Google Pixel 4A represents an excellent value-for-money feature set (especially an impressive camera).
.
Unless you have one
Google wants to use a 5.8-inch display instead of a 6-inch display, so it will win a head-to-head confrontation in every aspect. There may be no knockouts, but almost all features have been improved or decorated on more expensive equipment.

When we set out to overhaul our two science laboratories, one was in grades 5-6 and the other was in grades 7-8. We reworked our plan for the look and feel of a typical laboratory. We want a truly fascinating space where students are interested and excited about laboratory science.
We went to work. We updated the existing footprint with movable walls, comfortable seats and device chargers. The final result is far from the previous laboratory with a history of 20 years. This is what we learned in the process.
It is easy to replace tables, chairs, floors and air jets, and then call it a laboratory transformation, but we don't want to replace the existing space with more of the same space. Instead, we focus on building a future-oriented classroom for students.
We want students to think like Google or Apple engineers, scientists and collaborative teams. We ask ourselves some questions, such as: What is real learning like? What skills do our students need to know in the future? Moreover, how do we incorporate the 3Cs of collaboration, creativity and communication? Therefore, where traditional laboratories are more personalized and can collect data and report, all we want children to do is observe how science really works in a collaborative manner.
We installed movable walls, made full use of natural light, and worked with school furniture provider MiEN to propose an interior design that fits our core mission. One of the first things to do is the uncomfortable metal chair found in most scientific laboratories. We want students to sit down and collaborate comfortably. When you go to places like Starbucks or another cool cafe, many people are here to do their best. We want to imitate that atmosphere.
Together with our design partners, we are able to implement some new innovative concepts to support modern learning and collaboration. Some of these concepts include bar tables where students can gather; comfortable chairs that can move and swing; and comfortable sofas. As a one-to-one school, students can use iPads or Chromebooks, and we also provide sockets for charging devices and writing space at every site throughout the lab.
Be particularly clear about what your budget is and not allow it to increase. Keep your partners ahead; tell them how much you can spend, and ask them not to give you things that look down on you (this will only waste everyone's time). Finally, we must have a vision. Without these, you will never reach the desired location.
During the Industrial Revolution, most schools were set up for learning. It's time to make these spaces up to date. This is important, because today’s students learn differently from their predecessors. Therefore, where children still need to write books, hold books and participate in other traditional classroom activities, they also need flexible and creative spaces to learn. This is the premise for us to establish a new laboratory, and it has worked well so far.

We are preparing to return to face-to-face learning from Monday, so we are considering mandatory summer school. Nearly half of the students in the region will continue to use the distance learning model.
When students start to return to the classroom on Monday, they may find an additional metal detector at the door. As part of the US$3.5 million expenditure to create a safe learning space, students who do return home will see change.
Security measures are visible. Each classroom will be separated by desks, there will be partitions and air purifiers.
Officials said that when students study remotely, their learning loss is measured as negative by two grades. The school district stated that it believes that it has brought most students back to the next grade level. This means that the COVID-19 pandemic has made Pontiac’s students lose at least the entire grade level.
Due to loss of studies, the region is considering not ending the school year in June.
