Safe ways you can still enjoy a somewhat normal movie-going experience | Entertainment | utdailybeacon.com

Central Cinema is a local company that aims to provide Knoxville people with a unique and authentic theater experience.

Trying to find a seat in a crowded dark movie theater with popcorn in one hand and high-priced soda in the other is no better memory than before COVID-19.

The pandemic has kept us away from many social events, but the temporary closure of most movie theaters may be one of the more heartbreaking theaters. Although you can no longer go to the Regal Theater to watch movies, there are still many COVID-friendly ways to enjoy new and old movies.

Beginning last week, the Student Success Department began to screen movies in the Cox Auditorium of the Alumni Memorial Hall.

Last Thursday, they aired "Blade" and this Thursday, they will screen "Jumanji: The Next Level" at 6 pm. Since there is enough space to keep a distance from others, this is a safe way to enjoy semi-ordinary movies and viewing experience. Don't forget to wear a mask!

The Central Cinema is a fairly new member of the Knoxville area. It is an independent cinema that can show many movies, including older classic movies and smaller newly released movies. Although they are currently closed to the public, they still allow groups to rent out the auditorium while socially estranged and wearing masks. You can watch movies and even watch video games on the big screen.

Recruit 15 or fewer friends to charge a fee ranging from US$275 to US$325 and support outstanding local business! If you still want to support Central Cinema without keeping the auditorium, you can rent movies from their website to play at home.

Desire to see a new movie on the big screen, such as "Promising Young Woman" or "Wonderful Woman in 1984"? Many AMC locations are open, but the screening time is limited and can hold up to 40% of the capacity.

Be sure to plan ahead so that you can buy tickets and choose a seat that is separate from others. AMC also provides private rental services for up to 20 people, with prices ranging from $99-$149. You can also rent new movies from their website and watch them at home!

Grab some friends, invest in a projector or explosive movie screen, and watch one of your favorite movies outdoors! Being outside can reduce the chance of spreading COVID-19, so this is one of the safer ways to watch movies with people.

Of course, this idea is more tempting when the temperature is usually kept at 70 degrees, but you can encourage people to bring their own hot chocolate and blankets to stay warm at all times.

Up to now, we may all be tired of watching movies at home, but it is still an interesting experience. Block the light from all windows, then make popcorn, a lot of candy and soda into a small booth, so that all your roommates can turn your room into a small theater.

You can choose one of your favorite movies from Netflix, or you can splurge and rent a new movie. Disney+ also has new movies like "Soul Soul" and "Mulan", and HBO Max is now broadcasting all new Warner Bros. movies on the same day.
