RED BLUFF-Great Scott, Prime Cinemas is back, ready to show movies again, but this time outdoors.
The cinema will host pop-up cinema events on Friday and Saturday and will screen "Back to the Future". The movie will be screened on the side of the building in the South Parking Lot of Riverside Plaza.
Co-owner and CEO Brian Young said there will be some space for people to watch movies and still maintain social distance from others. Encourage customers to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets and cushions, and pretend to watch a movie in the park.
"Back to the Future" will be displayed around 8pm. Seats will open at 7:15 pm, and the lobby will be open for refreshments and toilets.
Tickets go on sale on the Wednesday before the performance every weekend and must be purchased online at https://www.primeredbluff.com/ in advance.
The viewing space is a 7'x7' square (accommodating up to 4 people) and a 7'x10' square that can accommodate up to 6 people. Young said that each screening can only hold 100 people and there are 25 available spaces.
No foreign food, beverages, freezer or alcohol. Anyone under the age of 14 who is not accompanied by an adult is not allowed to stay.
Customers who wander outside the designated seating area or visit the lobby and toilets need to wear masks.
"I think people are eager to be able to get together to participate in some kind of security enforcement activity," Young said. "We will give it a try and see how it goes."
Young said the theater will arrange more film screenings in the coming weeks, including "Grease" and "Jurassic World."
