The head of the Austin Band, Graham Reynolds, collaborated with the Texas Performing Arts Institute to bring the Texas Mixtape concert series to the Texas Grand Summit. Outdoor venue.
These performances will be the first live performances at the Texas Performing Arts Museum since March.
In the three concert series, Reynolds combined the artists who inspired his extraordinary groupings.
"In the spirit of this new Big Top venue in Texas, I tried and discovered its role in the Austin music pandemic. I have asked the performers to stretch their spirits and be acquainted with them. Play together at home, or maybe Reynolds said in the press release about the event. Mixed bands are my roots. They are the way I like to listen, and can transition from one style to another, and through a new context. Create meaning. When they grow up, they are a way to share a part of themselves with others."
Texas Performing Arts executive director Bob Bursey (Bob Bursey) said that the serious interruption of live performances requires creative strategies. "(It) means displaying in a new outdoor venue and introducing other perspectives into our program production. Through this series, we will continue to work to support Austin artists during the pandemic."
