NUECES County, Texas-Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year's pandemic will have many adjustments and changes
, It will not be open to the public.
To learn more about the changes,
Traditionally, one of the biggest parts of the performance is the Queen's contest.
We talked with the upcoming NCJLS queen and Calallen High School high school student Jackie McClendon. They watched the game with their sisters participating in the game as adults, and then winning the game is a dream come true.
Despite the challenges of the past year, she said it was still very special.
McLendon said: "There were a lot of bumps, disappointments, cancellations and things like that, but in general, I really liked it." "My year as the Queen of the 2020 NCJLS was a bit flexible and Improvisation is actually just a best effort."
However, this year's contestants will face completely different things when they take the stage, including reducing the number of spectators.
McLendon said: "There will be a big difference, just because we are really trying to make this event as safe as possible."
"We really want to abide by all the facilities and CDC guidelines. We will keep our distance from society. Temperature checks and masks will be conducted. I think this is the biggest change in our society, but we are going to follow it."
According to the organizers of the event, the auditorium can hold 400 people, but 170 tickets were sold. Tickets will not be sold at the door. All participants and contestants need to wear masks. Hand sanitizer will be provided on all doors. A temperature check will be performed at the entrance and the first two rows will be pulled up.
The competition will be held in the Tuloso Midway High School Auditorium on January 9th (Saturday) at 6:30 pm.
