The Jordan High School Auditorium Refurbishment project is part of a decade-long renewal of the campus master plan and is now nearing completion. The furniture is scheduled to be relocated next week.
Jordan High and Houghton Park are located together in the heart of North Long Beach. It was built in the 1930s and has since been refurbished in the 1950s and 1990s. The large-scale renovation of the school's buildings and exterior began in multiple stages in 2014. The auditorium is part of the 1C and 1D phases and is said to cost 108 million US dollars.
. The final phase is scheduled to be completed in 2026, and it is said that the renovation project in Jordan will cost more than US$200 million.
In the next few years, the campus buildings will continue to be upgraded and renovated. The next major projects include the construction of new buildings to be completed in 2022, as well as the modernization of winter sports fields, stadiums and swimming pools in 2023 and 2024. Jordan’s renovation project is the largest and largest campus renovation project in history. According to LBUSD, in the city's school district.
David Miranda, executive director of facility development and planning at LBUSD, said the auditorium renovation project took three years. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, students are leaving campus, and the update to the auditorium is completed faster.
Miranda said: "The goal of the area is to be completed in the spring of 2020, but in the past six months, we have been able to take on more responsibilities, including painting, exterior site work, architectural audio and seats." Students, with limited staff, our contractors are able to speed up the delivery of construction materials and work on ramps and stairs that were previously inaccessible due to temporary walls."

Miranda said the biggest improvements in the high school auditorium include earthquake upgrades, access regulations, fire and life safety improvements, and building infrastructure maintenance. The appearance of the building includes aesthetic improvements, consistent with previous and future improvements planned on other buildings on the campus.
